It is easy to password-protect your photos, just as it is easy for you to set a passcode for your device. Although, you need to know a few things first.

In the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad, there is a Hidden Photos folder that consists of the photos you hide.

The Hidden album appears under Utilities in your Photos Album page.

To password protect photos on your device, do the steps below so far you are running iOS 16.

Step 1: Open Photos app

On your iPhone or iPad menu, open the Photos app.

Step 2: Select any Photos or Videos

Select the photos or videos you want to hide and after selecting, below the screen, tap the circled three-dot icon at the bottom to display other options.

Step 3: Select Hide Option

On the follow-up menu, select the Hide option to move the photos to the Hidden album. Confirmed to hide the photos and video.

The photos or videos will automatically relocate to a Hidden album under Utilities. The Hidden album can’t be accessed without the correct Passcode or Face ID.

How To Password Protect Photos On iPhone & iPad Using Notes App

The Notes app is one of the popular apps on iOS devices and it is used for several purposes.

It is possible to use the Notes app to password-protect photos, as it is not password protected in the Hidden album.

To do this, follow the steps below

Step 1: Open the Photos app

Open the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2: Select Photos

Select the photos you want to hide on the Notes app and tap the Share icon. At the bottom left, tap the Share icon (box with an arrow up).

Step 3: Select Notes app

Then, from the share options, slide left, tap on More and select the Notes app

Step 4: Share to Notes

Share the photos to the Notes app and tap on the Save option when the app open.

Step 5: Go to Notes App

After you must have shared the photo to Notes, go to the Notes app. Scroll to the newly saved Note and open it.

Step 6: Tap the Three-dot icon

When the Note display, tap the three-dot icon at the top right to uncover other options.

Step 7: Tap Lock

Tap the Lock option to lock the Note if you already set a password for Notes. But, if you have not set up a password, it will prompt you to set a password for the Note. After that, tap Done.
