You can’t be wrong by going dark. The feature aims to help you increase your device battery life and reduce your eye strain. Flipboard released the feature for their web-based version on iOS first. It was available on Android before the fall of 2020.
You need to update the app before you can turn on the dark theme on Flipboard. If you haven’t updated, you can download the update from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
You can use the system-wide dark display on Android 10 and newer. It is also available on iOS 13 and later to allow Flipboard dark theme. You can also turn on a dark theme for Flipboard in the Settings menu.
How To Activate Flipboard Dark Mode on Android
You can turn on dark mode on the Flipboard if you have an Android phone. This is possible even for non-Android 10 users and newer ones.
Step 1: Open the Flipboard app
Open the Flipboard Android app and tap on your profile at the bottom right corner.
Step 2: Tap on the Settings icon
Tap on the Settings icon at the top right corner of your screen.
Step 3: Select the Dark theme
On the settings menu, tap Theme under display and select the Dark theme option.
You can also use the device-wide screen settings if you are using Android 10 or a newer updated OS.
How To Turn on Flipboard Dark Mode on iPhone
Dark Mode can be turned on for iOS devices using the device-wide dark screen by going to Display & Brightness to activate Flipboard dark mode on iPhone here are the steps to turning it on;
Step 1: Open your settings app
To turn on the dark theme on your iPhone, open your settings app on your iPhone or iPad device.
Step 2: Click on the Display & Brightness
On the settings page, click on the Display & Brightness option.
Step 3: Tap on the Dark theme
Tap on the Dark theme option under the appearance section and your device will go dark.
When your iPhone or iPad uses the dark theme, Flipboard automatically changes themes to match. This requires iOS 13 or newer.
How to turn on Flipboard dark mode on a PC
If you want to turn on Flipboard night mode on your computer, your browser can automatically help you achieve that. Alternatively, you can switch easily from your profile menu.
Step 1: Go to Flipboard
To enable dark mode, go to https://www.flipboard.com on your computer.
Step 2: Select Dark Mode
Then click on your profile picture and select the dark mode option.
