This will fix the problem with the Instagram app on your device. If it didn’t work for YOU, it means that there’s a lot more complicated issue.

What can you do? Wait for 1 to 6 hours and the problem should be fixed. This is because the app is partially down for some people, but not everyone.

Before then, you can try using another device to sign in and use Instagram, this may work.

You can also use the Instagram web. Go to your web browser and type instagram.com, you’ll be able to access the site and see the latest from your feed.

In all, here are the fixes you can try to fix Instagram if you ever experienced issues with the app.

Fix 1: Change Internet Connection

One of the major causes of the Instagram app not working is because of the network provider.

If the app is not working, you may have poor internet speed. And to fix this issue, you’ll need to switch your internet connection.

If you have been using your cellular network before, you’ll need to switch to Wi-Fi or the reverse.

If the app is not loading, what you can do is change your cellular network. Switch to another network.

Fix 2: Restart The App

If Instagram is not working properly, you can restart the app by force-stopping the app and background refreshing.

If you’re using an Android device, you can force stop the app and it will stop it from running in the background. Then open the app again.

The Instagram app must be open for you to be able to tap on the Force Stop button.

For Android: Go to your phone Settings > Tap on Apps & notifications > Tap on App info or See All [Num] apps > Then find WhatsApp app > And then tap on Force Stop.

You can refresh the Instagram app on your iPhone, all you have to do is refresh the app in the background.

For iPhone: Go to your phone Settings > Find the Instagram app > Tap on Background App Refresh > Toggle to turn on background refresh.

For iPhone users, you can’t directly clear cache on your iPhone app Settings or even from the Instagram app.

This feature isn’t available on iPhone devices, the only thing you can do here is to offload the app from your phone.

Since you can’t directly clear cache on the Instagram app, or from the iPhone Settings, you’ll need to offload the app.

For iPhone: Go to your iPhone Settings > And then tap on General > Tap iPhone Storage > Then find the Instagram app and open it > And tap on Offload App button.

After you’ve offloaded the app from your iPhone, you’ll need to reinstall it back from the Apple App Store.

Fix 5: Clear Instagram Data [Android]

For Android users, clearing app data can make any problem go away without uninstalling the app from your phone.

If you own an Android device, and your Instagram app is not working, you can clear the data and everything including your account will be removed from the app.

For Android: Tap on the power button and tap on the restart option. You can power it off and wait for a few minutes before turning it on.

For iPhone: You can soft or force restart your device, this will clear glitches and stop running apps in the background.
