Discord links are unnecessarily lengthy and whenever you post with a link, the preview appears all over the post. This poses a challenge as the purpose of the message may be lost.

Most Discord users do not like the website previews and are less inclined to click the link, especially if it’s going to direct them out of Discord

In this article, you’ll learn how to disguise links on Discord. You’ll also learn the methods to disguise links on Discord.

To get people to click your link on Discord, you can choose to hide the link before sending it as they will not be able to see a preview of the link.

The link can be a personal link or a link to your channel or even a link to a blog post.

There are three ways in which you can use to hide your links on Discord as a simple message.

Using Angle Brackets

Using this method involves putting angle brackets before and after your link in the message or post. This will effectively disguise the link.

After you have copied the link you want to share in Discord, open the Discord server that you want to share it to.

To disguise the link, you’ll need to use the angle brackets to cover the link before sending it out.

Type <paste the link>. Paste the link you copied between the angle bracket. An example will be <https://www.google.com>.

Step 3: Send a message

After completing the hiding of the link, you can now send the message and the link will be disguised from other users.

Using The Spoiler Tag

Using the Spoiler tag can also help you disguise links from others. This is similar to the angle brackets.

Copy the link you want to share on Discord. Choose the preferred server and channel.

To hide the link, type ||paste the link||. Paste the link you copied between the angle bracket. An example will be ||https://www.google.com||.

Step 3: Send a message

After completing the hiding of the link, you can now send the message and the link will be disguised from other users.

Link previews are automatically displayed by default on Discord so to disguise your links, you can disable that feature.

Using A Personal Computer

If you’re using a Windows computer or Mac here’s how you can hide your link from previewing on Discord.

Step 1: Open Discord

Open Discord, log in, and select the gear button [Settings] which can be found at the bottom left corner.

Step 2: Go to Text & Images

Locate “App Settings” and click on “Text & Images”. Turn off the “Show embed and preview website links pasted into chat” feature.

Using The Mobile Application

If you’re using an iPhone or Android device, here’s how you can turn off the link preview on the app.

Step 1: Open Discord

Open the Discord App and select the menu icon on the top left corner of the screen. On the bottom right corner of your screen, tap on the Settings icon.

Step 2: Go to Text & Images

Locate “App Settings” and click on “Text & Images”. On the “Embeds and Link Previews” section and turn off the “Show embed and preview website links pasted into chat”

Conclusion

The methods listed above are tried and ways by which you can camouflage your links on Discord.

If you follow these proven ways, you will find out that hiding discord links is an easy thing to do.
